Giving up on the trackball

Music: Billy Joel - Pressure

So a while back I was looking for a better input device. I tried a Logitech Trackman, which is a trackball that you move with your thumb. I then took the advice of someone else and got a normal trackball. I chose the Kensington Expert Mouse. The Expert Mouse is the absolute best trackball you can buy. My hand just can't adjust to it.

For the last while (I forgot exactly when I bought these things) my hand has been killing me. Half of the reason to go the trackball route was to save my wrists, and for the first time in my life I found myself in pain. My hand hurts every single day. And before it never hurt.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that I got so used to normal mice over the years that I know how to use them without hurting myself. I'm also going to go out on the same limb and guess that for some reason I'm not using trackballs like anyone else does. For me, all they are is pure pain.

So if anyone wants a good deal on a Kensington Expert Mouse let me know. I'm sick of causing myself pain to try to "save my wrists." I need to save them the way that worked for the last 23 years.
