Random Tidbits

Over the holidays I had a few weeks of free time, so I spent it wisely playing Guitar Hero 3.  I'm still terrible at the game, but at least I'm now most of the way through the expert campaign.    Currently on a project, my hands are getting some much needed rest.  I'm getting much stronger hands, and I should be able to break walnuts with my fingers in no time.

And playing a lot of that game has had me reading ScoreHero a bit, and it was big news when Jordan was FCed (full combo for those out of the GH loop).  I now count myself as one of the few who hears the word Jordan and thinks of something other than the country or Michael.  And I haven't even played that game.  I guess that has something to do with relevance to my own world (I actually play a similar game, and don't travel to the middle east or play basketball).

I just read on Slashdot that there's a new Microsoft deal that will have them streaming ads to shopping carts.  My favorite comment was from someone who noted that this could sum up the history of computing nicely, with Apple introducing the iPhone and Microsoft introducing an annoying shopping cart.  That's pretty much how I view those two companies, and their market caps indicate that consumers are morons.

I guess a lot of things are in how you look at them.
