I just had a dream where I was observing The Paper Chase, but with Jack Nicholson as Kingsfield, and James Naughton having swapped roles with Timothy Bottoms. They (Hart and Kingsfield) are drinking at a bar together, and Kingsfield can't understand how it took Hart so damn long to finish his contribution. It only needed to be a few pages!
I do not think this would have been a better movie than the original.
